Scottish Half & 10k

Inverclyde Athletic Club’s Andy Douglas stormed to victory in the men’s 10-kilometre race in Edinburgh, part of the Scottish Half Marathon + 10K event.

Gearing up for the cross country relay season, Andy set a standard close to his best, running 30min 10sec, his best road time since 2018.

He won the race by nearly two minutes.

Shettleston’s Philip Neilson and Lasswade’s Andrew McWilliam completed the podium.

In the following half marathon race, Mark Doherty came close to his personal best, finishing second on the road.

He held off Gala Harriers’ Darrell Hastie by six seconds, in a time of 1 hour 9min 44sec.

Long Eaton’s Simon Crawford won the race in 1:08:29.

Colin Doherty, Mark’s brother, completed the top five – setting a new personal best of 1:11:24, taking nearly a minute off his previous time.
